I am by no means a chemist (I got a ‘D’ in chemistry), but as an artist I get my inspiration from organic, scientific, natural, industrial and mathematical references. I’ve recently been looking at molecules and the complex structures that they create. The shapes are minimal, modern, retro and elegant.
I make my own jump rings by bending the steel around a wooden dowel and cutting them by hand. I create different sizes for the molecules and orbits that are in my periodic table of elements.
Oh, if my high school science and math teachers could see me now! And I told them I didn’t need to know chemistry and math since I was an artist. Now the chemistry is just right.
