Here’s a sneak peek of the exclusive body of work I’m developing for my upcoming trunk show at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
Influenced by stalactites, an icicle-shaped formation that hangs from the ceiling of a cave, my new element explores simplicity, movement and lightness through the introduction of fabric. I’ve been wanting to introduce fabric into my work for some time now; fringe adds a great flow and texture, while stitching and fabric add an element of soft contrast to the hard metal.
I will be at the lovely Bainbridge Island Museum of Art for the First Saturday Trunk Show on Saturday, August 8 from 12-4. Admission to the museum is free!
